White Stone Outreach ongoing ministries

Vets4Vets

Vets4Vets is a new ministry to our military veterans and their families.   Our goal is to form groups of veterans across the Wylie area, allowing them a forum to discuss their experiences with others who "have been there".   Combat veterans often have many emotions to deal with, that if ignored, can adversely affect all their close relationships.  Vets4Vets is lead by combat veterans from previous conflicts who have been through many of the real life crisis that often affect our returning soldiers.

We also want to assist the military families of those currently deployed or just returning from active service by providing for emotional, spiritual, and physical needs.  While our programs are "Christ Centered", we welcome all who wish to participate regardless of religious preference.

Mercy Square
In the Fair Park area of south east Dallas, is a vacant lot that has become known as "Mercy Square".  This lot is located on a corner, surrounded by drug houses and very low income housing.  On August 10, 2008, this land was dedicated to the LORD in a service conducted by and through Sunlight Baptist Church, owner of the property.  Besides the dedication service, our goal is to meet there regularly to mininster to anyone who stops by.  In the very near future we will be erecting a large cross in the center of the property, marking it as sacred ground.  We believe the cross will be a symbol of hope and a place of peace for all those in the nearby community.

Restaurant Ministry
We try to utilize every opportunity to touch a life for Christ.  At least a couple of times a week we meet for lunch in a busy North Dallas restaurant and minister to the wait-staff as well as others who have an interest.  Over the months, we have seen God dramatically change the lives of several people as a result of this ministry.
There is another restaurant near our home in Wylie, Texas where we sometimes go on Sunday mornings, specifically, looking for people we can meet and pray for.  It's a very low key ministry that allows just a couple of seconds to try to impact a heart.  Before entering the restaurant, we ask God to direct us to someone whom He wishes to bless.  Someone who may be going through some difficult times and who could use a little encouragement.  Then, when we've sensed God's leading, we offer up a prayer asking God to bless that person(s)and to meet whatever special needs they may have.  Afterwards, we simply stop by their table, tell them that Jesus loves them, that we have just prayed for the LORD to bless them, and then ask them if they would allow us the blessing of paying for their meal.  WHAT A BLESSING!

Book Give Away
From the earliest days of White Stone Outreach Ministries, we have been giving away the book, "Since Nobody's Perfect, How Good is Good Enough?"  This little book by Pastor and Author, Andy Stanley, has been incredibly powerful in dispelling the popular belief that 'all good people go to heaven'.  Though we don't know the total impact this book has had, we do have first hand knowledge of several lives that have been changed after having read the book.  If you would like a copy for yourself or, someone you know, just email us at answers4life@whitestoneoutreach.org .
